Brandon just leaned back against the wall. "Huh, another group of Gifted biting off more than they can chew," he thought to himself, "guess we'll just have to teach them a lesson." He decided to tune back in to what his twin brother was saying on the platform.
"...supposedly more powerful than many Gifted that we've faced before. The High Councils of the Gifted from communities across China, America, Africa, Australia, Japan, and many other major countries have made that same claim. We can't assume that they're right coz' Gifted have such small minds about true power, but, we can't ignore the warning either. I've seen some of the things the DeathHawks have done. Some are great examples of elemental prowess, others look like the results of powers that we've either never heard of before, or that are being used in ways we can't imagine.
"So, you know why we're gathered here in the Assemblium. We have to stop it coz' it's not only the gifted that are aware of it and that are being affected by it. The non-gifted community is also panicking over the situation, but they're attributing it to more "logical" causes such as global warming, mad scientists, and my personal favourite-- God's punishment on all the pagans.
"As silly as the Gifted and non-gifted communities are acting, we need to stop them, so I wanna ask, as I always do, who's interested to go."
Silence filled the room. The members of the Assembly of Lune merely looked back and forth between one another, waiting for the one with the most initiative to hold up their hand or say something. Finally someone did.
"If you're going, Mike, I'm definitely coming too." The speaker was none other than Ruby Swan. Her brother, Kingsley, soon followed suit, " Yeah, me too."
Almost lazily, Brandon put up his own hand, saying nothing. Michael acknowledged him with a nod before moving on.
"Anyone else?" he asked.
"I'd like to see what these Earthlings have to offer. I'll go." Paul, a member of Lexington.
As expected, Aurora Maestro and her younger sister, Sakura, both decided to join their respective boyfriends.
After that came Cynthia and Bakuryu, both from a branch family of the Lexingtons known as HanaUmi, and Uriko, from Leo.
"No one else?" Michael looked to the Leviathans, the Leonardos and the remainder of the Lexingtons, they were more reclusive and preferred to stay on Leandasia during such occasions, guarding the Hakuryu Mansion if necessary. Each of them nodded almost imperceptibly, signalling a no.
"Very well, I suppose we can get a move on then. First of all, let me remind you of the rules: only two abilities are to be chosen outside of your signature moves. In this case, I want you all to pick something elemental. Your signature moves, as many levels of them as you have, can be brought along freely and used whenever you like and any special abilities you have will not be taken from you.
"We will travel in pairs, and in this fortunate situation, everyone shall go with their respective 'partners'. We will be separated and sent to places where the DeathHawks are expected to be. Special capsules will be given to you to capture your opponents once you have beaten them. These will allow us to question them ourselves her on Leandasia. Once you have captured the DeathHawks you have battled, a special spell activated by the various High Councils will allow you to travel to the next location. All you need to do is to say the words 'Pacem Reddita' and you'll be on your way.
"So, shall we go?"

Author's notes- *Sigh of relief* Finally the first chapter is done. It's not my best but I don't know how to write these "discussion" scenes. I'll work on them, but mainly this chapter was to get you guys in the know about what happens when the Assembly gets a "mission" like this. It's just an introduction, but I hope it was okay. I promise that the following chaps will be more fun and interesting. Stay tuned for more character profiles, brief "story notes", maybe some fillers along the way and of course, the next chapter!
