Hi Guys, I've been really lifeless lately, so I've been going through my old posts, and I saw the posts for my abandoned novel-Song of Earth. I abandoned it coz' I realized that it didn't have a proper plot or storyline and I didn't have any idea how it was going to end. So.. I was thinking, how about I start another story based on something that I used to imagine as a kid, u know, like my imaginary friends or something like that ;) I hope you like it. I've had years to work on the story but I'm not sure if I can write it coz' there's a lot of action involved :/ [;)] Well, here's the introduction.

Leandasia - An Introduction (by Michael Hakuryu)
"Welcome, everyone. My name is Michael. Michael Hakuryu. A strange name you might say, but honestly, I think it's a perfectly fine name. Those of you who understand Japanese might know that Hakuryu can be directly translated as White Dragon. Indeed, our family's history has influenced the development of both Chinese and Japanese as languages and also the mythology of the two nations. But nevermind them. I'm here to introduce you to the beautiful land where I live - Leandasia.
"Leandasia is not some distant island or alternate dimension. It is a planet right here in the celestial formation that you humans know as the Solar System. It shares Earth's orbit, but travels at a speed that is only a fraction faster than that of the Earth. Every hundred years or so, the planets face the risk of colliding, but using our powers, we Leandasians are able to prevent such a catastrophe through a special ritual which allows us to skip ahead of Earth and continue on our orbit, giving us a few hundred years of peace and untroubled existence to enjoy.
"There are three types of beings that we know of. The first is ordinary humans, which include most of you reading this - people who have no special abilities whatsoever. The second is a group of people known as the Gifted - these are humans who possess one or two special abilities that can range from flying to an incredible memory. The third is people like me - Leandasians. We are not human. Our DNA is different in many ways. As such, we have the capacity to possess many special abilities ranging from elemental control to magic to auric energy to ninjutsu.
"Our planet has seven moons, each one named after the seven most powerful and most ancient families who were the first to dominate the planet - Lexington, Maestro, Leo, Swan, Leonardo, Leviathan and of course, Hakuryu.
"I am part of a special group of Leandasians who are the current generation of the seven lunar families. We are known as the Assembly of Lune and we like to think of ourselves as a really close family. Currently, we all live together in the Hakuryu family mansion which, believe me, is nothing like your mansions on Earth. It's not old and dusty and creepy. It's modern, has all of the latest Leandasian technology such as fight simulators, full-house surveillance and communications systems, it's impermeable to dirt, AND IT'S HUGE! Sorry, but it's my home so I gotta' do some rubbing in faces.
"Anyway, this story is about me and a few other members of the Assembly of Lune going on one of our 'missions'. Being Leandasians, we have jobs, but our jobs are usually high-pay and require minimal work. For instance, I own a ( I know this will sound both familiar and weird ) Chocolate factory and the chocolates we make would make even your Willy Wonka give up his business. I don't make the chocolate, I just create the recipes and provide the tools to help my men make it. The revenue is quite high coz' Leandasians LOVE chocolate and mine are the BEST (forgive my lack of humility but I have no reason to be humble)!
"As such, we have a LOT of free time on our hands. To prevent ourselves from rotting away, we often go around in search of problems or troublemakers both in Leandasia or on Earth and we try to solve these problems to fill our time. Also being the most powerful people on Leandasia and being leaders by default, we are the ones that the head of the Gifted community on Earth comtacts when he detects disturbances. Damn him... It's rather troublesome. Then again, we should thank him coz' without such problems for us to solve, we'd be pretty lifeless.
"This time, we have been requested to deal with a group of 24 very skilled Gifted who have spread across the globe causing trouble, big and small. They call themselves the DeathHawks and from what I've heard, they do seem pretty good. Then again, earthlings always exaggerate the skills of the Gifted because they don't know what true skill really is. Frankly, I fail to see how they could be any different from our other encounters. So, we must do what we must do and take them out like we always do, maybe bring them back in for questioning or something.
"Ok, I think I've prattled on for too long. Maybe we should get on with the documentation of the actual little episode we had dealing with the DeathHawks. But before we begin, I think I should mention that Leandasians, as a rule, aren't allowed to bring all their powers with them when they travel to Earth. This rule is enforced through some ancient seal that was created long ago by some of the Gifted who worked together with the Leandasians to make sure that no Leandasian would come to Earth and wreak havoc by abusing their wide range of abilities.
"As a result, Leandasians are only allowed to select two specific abilities, e.g. manipulation of water, teleportation, shapeshifting, ninjutsu, wand-wielding magic, auric magic etc, to be brought with them to Earth for their use should the need arise. It's great for keeping the balance between the two planets, but it makes dealing with people like the DH kind of difficult. Sometimes, I wish they had never made that stupid rule.. But the good thing is that the rule also allows us to bring our "Signature" moves to Earth. These are a collection of three or less abilities that are unique to every Leandasian. Since most of our power comes from our Signature moves, it makes things easier, but still not as easy as it would be with our full scope of abilities...
"OK, I reeeaally need to stop right now. But, just to make things easy on you, I'll include some character profiles before, after or in between posts to explain about the different Leandasians and Gifted we will meet, or to list out facts about the story that would be deemed important.
"I kinda' gotta go right now. Wish us luck, and good luck to you too! We hope you would enjoy this little snippet of our lives."
